Home Ice

During the regular season, each team plays 11 home games. In order to provide the ice time needed for these games, teams can either enter into their own contract with the City or use the GAARA ice pool (subject to availability).

Teams that provide their own ice must provide a minimum of 13 hours to GAARA for scheduling. The location, day and time must be approved in advance by the Board before you commit to the contract with the City. See Operational Procedures - Team Eligibility & Registrants Policy, Section 1.9.2 for further details. Please take note:

  • Currently we cannot accommodate any additional Sunday hours,
  • Proposed ice location and day of week will be required before the team can be accepted.

Teams that join the GAARA ice pool have their ice provided through GAARA’s contract with the City of Ottawa. Home game times and locations will vary throughout the year. Payment to GAARA to cover the cost of this ice is part of the team registration process. Note: While new teams can apply to be part of the GAARA ice pool, acceptance is not guaranteed.
